Who wants to own a Range Rover anyway? Oh yeah…me!
My first job today was a trip to Canvey Island for a lock upgrade on a composite door, nothing unusual about that…Until I got to site.
The homeowner had been burgled the night before. His brand spanking new Range Rover stolen off his drive. It was a sad story, the owner was home and awake, it was only 11pm! A as result of this, I was called to upgrade the locks and make him secure.
He had a composite door which had not been doubled locked. Therefore the thieves had easily used a screw driver to ‘pop’ the door open.
It was at this point the customer provided a shocking revelation; that he thought just lifting the handle double locked the door…..it doesn’t.
If the front door been double locked it would have been considerably more difficult for the thieves to get into the property. And his pride and joy might still be on the driveway as a result of double locking.
The message here is ‘Lift it, TURN THE KEY, Lock it, REMOVE THE KEY’
